The American Psychological Association indicates that 20 million young people in the United States are diagnosed with a mental health condition.
According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, adolescent mental health is deteriorating. In 2021, a significant number of students reported feeling persistently sad or hopeless, with 42% experiencing distress and 22% contemplating suicide.
The American Psychological Association states that mental health is a major component of children's overall well-being. Addressing children's social and emotional needs is widely acknowledged as essential for their success in both education and society. This recognition is so significant that March 4-8, 2024, was designated as National Social and Emotional Learning Week through a joint effort by the U.S. Senate and White House.
Incorporating social-emotional learning programs into school curriculums can help in fostering healthy development and academic achievement in children. These programs equip students with essential skills such as self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making.
By cultivating these abilities, students are better equipped to overcome challenges, build positive relationships, and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
My child is a 1st grader at Cobblestone Elementary. Your message really resonated with her. It was really cool to hear her describe your story. To hear a 6 year old put it into her own words - it was really powerful - to her and to me. So thank you for what you are and what you're doing!
As a teacher, I quickly learned the impact of Sami's videos on my students. Not only did I see an improvement in my students' emotional health, they also impacted me to be a more positive person. Students tell me they feel better once we "do Sami’s Circuit." As you know, when students feel better, they do better, and this was definitely the case with my class.”
This school year was the first time I heard of Sami's Circuit. Our entire elementary school participates. The kids literally jump up and down with joy when they hear we will be watching Sami that day.
This is a program that actually has the kids engaged. This program is prepped and user-friendly. Students are engaged and attentive and follow through.

You are such a positive role model. So many kids look up to you and you and your work are simply amazing. I talk about the importance of fitness and perseverance all the time, but somehow it's different coming from you. Thanks for the positive messages!
